Timeline of Events

These are just some of the things we know about and have happened to us over the past year.

$500 Delivery Driver Fine Charged to Us Despite Bylaw Protections

Six days after the delivery driver was cited, the $500 fine was added to our account—even though the HOA’s rules gave the driver 10 days to pay it. The charge was also placed on us despite language in the governing documents stating that members are not responsible for certain express and food delivery providers serving the community.

Private Information Posted on YouTube

HOA posts UberEats personal information on YouTube on an ‘unlisted’ link – which means its not confidential. The video shows UberEats Drivers License, Vin, License plate number etc and gives out my name and home address without my consent.

Raised Voices, Security Called, and Our Appeal Stopped Before We Finished Presenting Evidence

Our appeal hearing lasted only a few minutes and ended before we were able to fully present our evidence and told that we needed to “Hurry up” and that they didn’t “…have time for this.” By both President Dewayne Cady and Kim Caldwell (who was VP at the time) . The HOA board later upheld the $500 fine without providing the evidence packet or the relied upon, and without explaining the authority for charging our account, or identifying how the Board reached its decision or why they tried to intimidate us by calling security on us.

HOA President Dewayne Cady County Filing Raises Questions About Authority, Bylaws, and Retaliation

At 8:19AM paperwork was filed with the county clerk stating Dewayne Cady has the authority to file the documents on his own without board signatures and updates information that was 7 years old according to him. Those filings contradict our bylaws by not allowing us to see employee contracts which we requested without a court order. Which contradicts our bylaws which states we can request any employee contracts.

Were Members Properly Asked to Approve Road and Clubhouse Charges?

Questions remain about whether members were properly asked to approve major road work and the mandatory $25 clubhouse charge. The bylaws appear to require a member vote for certain project-specific assessments, while the HOA has not yet provided clear records in our opinion showing the road project’s scope, funding source, approval process, or the authority for the separate clubhouse charge. Members deserve to know what they are being required to pay, why, and whether the proper voting procedures were followed.

GM Says “We Will Blast You With Our Lawyers” to Chrissy

During a confrontation involving our family, GM Del Polikretis told Chrissy that “we will blast you with our lawyers,” while Board member Roy Wilt was present wearing a full police uniform. That combination was especially troubling to us because an HOA dispute was being addressed in the presence of someone appearing in an official law-enforcement capacity, which could reasonably feel intimidating even though the matter involved HOA governance rather than a criminal issue. We believe residents should be able to question HOA decisions without feeling pressured, threatened with legal action, or confronted in a way that blurs the line between HOA authority and law-enforcement authority.

GM Property Transactions Deserve Closer Scrutiny

Public property records show multiple Hideaway property transactions involving GM Del Polikretis and his wife, including several lots acquired. We have not been able to locate a complete paper trail explaining the HOA’s involvement, the terms of the arrangement, or any conflict-of-interest disclosures connected to these transactions. Those missing records are why we believe the transactions deserve a closer look.

April 2026

Ratification Rejected, but Questions Remain

Members rejected the Board’s ratification proposal by an in person vote, but the HOA had not clearly identified beforehand which prior Board actions members were being asked to approve. Questions also remain about whether members who could not attend were given a proper alternative voting method, who was authorized to count and supervise the vote, and what the failed ratification means for the earlier Board actions. Del stated “nothing will change” which we believe is false, why vote if nothing changes?

July 2026

HOA Restrictions Begin Before Notice and Continue Past Deadline

The HOA disabled our member-lane access before the suspension notice was even mailed or received, while claiming our account was more than 90 days past due—a calculation we dispute because our payments were delivered before that deadline. After we paid the demanded balance and the HOA confirmed our account was in good standing, our access still was not restored by the date the HOA itself provided, and our separate request for a hearing to challenge the restrictions went unanswered.

July 2026

HOA Restricts Chrissy’s Access Without Separate Notification

The HOA restricted Chrissy’s access even though she did not receive a separate notice explaining that she was being suspended or identifying the basis for the restriction. The concern is that she was treated as though the suspension automatically applied to her without being given her own notice, explanation, or opportunity to challenge the action.

Removed From Members-Only Facebook Group After Asking HOA to Enforce Its Code of Ethics

After I questioned why the HOA’s Code of Ethics was not being enforced against Board members and the General Manager, my comments were removed. Soon after, both Chrissy and I were kicked out of the official HOA members-only Facebook group without warning or a board hearing. Chrissy had not made the comments, and the HOA rules say the person who breaks a rule is the one who should face action—not the entire household. We still have not been allowed back into the group.

Are Hideaway’s Meeting Minutes Leaving Out What Members Say and Watering Down Summaries?

We found several examples where member comments appear to be missing from Hideaway’s meeting records and other comments were reduced to broad summaries that do not tell the full story of what was actually said. In some cases, important questions, concerns, and responses from HOA leadership were left out entirely. Because these minutes become part of Hideaway’s official record, I believe it is fair to ask whether they accurately reflect what really happened at the meetings.
