Voices of Hideaway is an independent website created to document our experiences, share information, raise questions, and encourage transparency within the Hide-A-Way Lake community.
This website is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by Hide-A-Way Lake Club, Inc., its Board of Directors, management, employees, security department, committees, or legal representatives.
Our Purpose
The purpose of this website is to share our experiences, documents, observations, concerns, and questions regarding matters affecting our family and the Hideaway community.
We believe members should have access to information that helps them understand how their community is governed, how decisions are made, how member funds are used, and how rules and procedures are applied.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as asking readers to automatically agree with us. We encourage everyone to review the information, read the governing documents, ask their own questions, and reach their own conclusions.
Facts, Opinions, and Questions
We make every reasonable effort to distinguish between:
- documented facts,
- our personal experiences,
- our opinions and interpretations,
- information provided by third parties, and
- questions that we believe deserve further investigation or explanation.
When we raise a question, concern, or possible explanation, it should not automatically be interpreted as an allegation that a person has committed a crime, violated the law, or engaged in misconduct.
Unless specifically supported by an official finding, court ruling, government determination, or other authoritative record, nothing on this website should be understood as a formal finding of wrongdoing.
Accuracy and Corrections
We make every reasonable effort to ensure the information published on Voices of Hideaway is accurate based on the records and information available to us at the time of publication.
However, information can be incomplete, records can later become available, and mistakes can occur.
If we discover that something we published is inaccurate, we will make reasonable efforts to correct it.
If you believe information on this website is inaccurate, incomplete, or missing important context, we encourage you to contact us and provide supporting documentation.
We welcome corrections from members, Board members, HOA employees, former employees, management, and anyone else who can provide reliable information.
Documents and Supporting Information
Many of the matters discussed on this website are supported by documents such as correspondence, HOA records, public records, account statements, photographs, videos, meeting materials, governing documents, and other information we have obtained.
We may not publish every document or every piece of information in our possession.
Some materials may be withheld or redacted because of:
- privacy concerns,
- personal identifying information,
- confidential communications,
- legal advice or legal strategy,
- information belonging to third parties,
- sensitive personal information, or
- other legal or ethical considerations.
The fact that a document is not publicly posted does not necessarily mean that it does not exist.
Public Records
Some information discussed on this website may come from publicly available government, property, corporate, court, or other official records.
The inclusion of information from a public record does not, by itself, imply wrongdoing.
For example, when we discuss property transactions, contracts, financial matters, or other records, our purpose may simply be to ask questions about transparency, procedure, disclosure, or how those matters relate to the operation of the HOA.
Names and Individuals
Because many of the issues discussed on this website involve actions taken by people serving in official or leadership roles within the HOA, it may sometimes be necessary to identify those individuals by name.
Our purpose in doing so is to accurately document who participated in a decision, communication, meeting, transaction, or event.
The inclusion of a person's name should not be interpreted as an invitation to harass, threaten, intimidate, or personally attack that individual.
We strongly discourage harassment of anyone discussed on this website.
Confidential Sources
Members and others may provide information to Voices of Hideaway confidentially.
When someone requests confidentiality, we will make reasonable efforts to protect that person's identity.
We may also decline to publish information that cannot be independently verified or that would require revealing the identity of a confidential source.
Legal Information
Nothing on Voices of Hideaway constitutes legal advice.
References to laws, statutes, HOA governing documents, bylaws, rules, policies, or legal procedures are provided for informational purposes and reflect our understanding of those materials.
Anyone facing a legal issue involving their HOA should consider consulting a qualified attorney regarding their individual circumstances.
Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to government websites, public records, news sources, social media, HOA materials, YouTube videos, or other third-party websites.
We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or future changes.
A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse everything contained on that website.
No Encouragement of Harassment or Illegal Conduct
Voices of Hideaway does not encourage harassment, threats, retaliation, trespassing, interference with HOA employees, disruption of meetings, or any other unlawful conduct.
We encourage members to remain respectful, document their concerns, ask questions, attend meetings, review governing documents, request records when appropriate, and use lawful procedures to address disputes.
Our Commitment
We created Voices of Hideaway because we believe transparency matters.
We will continue to make reasonable efforts to:
- separate documented facts from our opinions,
- provide supporting information when appropriate,
- correct mistakes when they are identified,
- protect confidential sources and personal information,
- present responses or explanations that materially change the context of an issue, and
- give readers enough information to reach their own conclusions.
Our goal is not to tell members what to think.
Our goal is to provide information, document our experience, ask questions we believe deserve answers, and help members better understand what is happening within their community.
